Our History
SONGEI is an Afghan NGO that implements social development activities in Afghanistan. SONGEI works for the development and relief of marginalized communities to achieve economic prosperity and improve humanitarian and social capital through delivering social, educational, agricultural, and livelihood services to vulnerable and marginalized societies.
The Supporting Organization for non-Government educational institution (SONGEI) is an independent, non-government organization established in October 2020 and was registered in the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan with the registration number 5083. According to the Statute, the SONGEI consists of 3 major leading organs that are: The General Assembly, that is the highest decision-making authority, The Directory Board, that is the advisory and policy-making body of the organization, and The Executive Board which is responsible for the implementation of the SONGEI programs and projects within the scope of its policies and plans.

Our Vision
SONGEI’s vision is an Afghanistan without illiteracy. We envision that all afghan children have easy access to high-quality education that affects their lives and provides them with means of development.

Core Competencies
SONGEI has gotten extreme achievements in different projects in the western region as follow: literacy training, gender equity, community mobilization on social and disability protection, running campaign and awareness- raising on legal rights, livelihood development through skills development and saffron cultivation, providing relief services for drought and flood and winter disaster- affected households. SONGEI has implemented various literacy and numeracy projects for pre-education women since it existed. We have implemented literacy projects in all teaching women basic reading, writing and mathematics. SONGEI started its initial activities in child protection and education for the orphan who lost their parents during the war and then extended their activities in the other section that children directly or indirectly affect. SONGEI commenced the first orphanage for the children by running primary and high schools for the orphan children in Herat supporting almost thousands of orphans…
